BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 4. In total, 4.66 million tons of oil and non-oil products were exported through the western ports of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari said, Trend reports.
Of the mentioned volume, 2.35 million tons accounted for the non-oil exports of the province's ports, Salari said.
He added that exported non-oil products were mainly fruits and vegetables, mining minerals and construction materials.
"Furthermore, 2.31 million tons of crude oil and related products were exported through the province’s western port during 8 months," the director said.
According to Salari, 2.9 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at the western ports of the province for cabotage in 8 months. Of that, 1.32 million tons were non-oil products, 1.58 million tons were crude oil and petroleum products.
In general, there are 10 ports operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan province. Among these ports, Bandar Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan are more active.
