Iran’s non-oil trade tie-up with Russia surges

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Russia increased by 18.3 percent in value and 42.9 percent in volume during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

Data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that the non-oil trade turnover between the two countries for the reporting period was around 3.75 million tons worth about $1.76 billion.

Meanwhile, Iran's non-oil trade with Russia stood at 2.62 million tons worth $1.48 billion in the same period last Iranian year.

The main items traded between Iran and Russia were petrochemical products, agricultural products, glassware, industrial products, raw silk, cotton, wood, and wood materials, etc.

During the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran's trade turnover with Russia was 366,000 tons worth about $185 million.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil trade with the world for the first eight months of this year was $74.1 billion, involving about 115 million tons of goods. This was an increase of 7.2 percent in value and 22.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
