BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 7. Iran’s local truck and trailer production grew by 26.3 percent in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the data from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, the country manufactured 24,673 trucks and trailers in 8 months.
In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year, Iran’s domestic truck and trailer output stood at 19,606 units
Over the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran manufactured 3,052 trucks and trailers countrywide, representing a 13.3-percent decrease compared with 3,523 units in the same month last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, 34,136 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production increased by 150 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
Overall, 882,471 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran in 8 months. This is an increase of 17.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
