BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Iran’s non-oil imports from Uzbekistan increased by 21 percent in value and 68.4 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported around 39,700 tons of goods from Uzbekistan worth approximately $62 million for 8 months.
In the same period last Iranian year, Iran's imports from Uzbekistan stood at about 23,600 tons, worth approximately $51.2 million.
Within the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran imported 4,400 tons of goods worth $10 million from Uzbekistan.
Iran mainly imported cotton, beans, silk, ammonium nitrate, etc. from Uzbekistan during the reporting period.
The total imports of Iran in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023) were 24.7 million tons worth $42.2 billion, which represents an increase of 12.3 percent in value and 4.32 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
