BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 6. Iran’s non-oil exports from Gilan Province in the north of the country, increased by 0.7 percent in value and 6 percent in volume, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Teymour Pour Heydari said, Trend reports.
The chairman noted that 900,000 tons of non-oil products worth $541 million were exported from Iran’s Gilan Province in 9 months.
In the corresponding period as the previous Iranian year, the province’s non export stood at 850,000 tons, worth $357 million, he added.
According to Pour Heydari, the main exported items were agricultural products (worth $232 million), industrial products (worth $194 million), minerals (worth $63 million) and petrochemical products (worth $52 million).
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from IRICA shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value, but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
