BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 29. Non-oil exports from Iran’s Markazi Province increased by 60 percent in value and 16 percent in volume during the first 10 months of this Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period of previous year, Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Rouhollah Gholami said, Trend reports.
Gholami noted that the province exported non-oil goods worth $957 million, weighing 1.55 million tons, in ten months.
The director general added that the main goods exported were various hydrocarbons, aluminum containers, glassware, etc.
According to him, the mentioned goods were mainly shipped to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
Iran’s Markazi Province has over 2,800 industrial enterprises, of which 300 are involved in exporting products.
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
