The State Statistics Committee does not see any reason for holding a monitoring of prices and wholesale trade, Tend reports quoting Arif Veliyev, the head of the State Statistics Committee as saying on Monday.

According to Veliyev, the joint monitoring held with the Ministry of Economic Development is somehow a dub of activities, as the State Statistics Committee carries study of import and wholesale prices, while it could be involved in the monitoring of wholesale prices .

The Ministry of Economic Development established monitoring groups with participation of employees of the regional divisions, as well the Department on anti-monopoly policy to implement President’s anti-inflation decree, which envisages monitoring of wholesale and retail of import goods, Trend reports quoting to Farhad Aliyev, the Minister of Economic Development.

The work in this direction show that the prices of the import goods increased.

“The monitoring have not completed yet. In the end we will send its results to the appropriate bodies to clarify if they pay taxes or not. The monitoring of the local goods also continues, but I can say the facts in this sphere are similar,” Aliyev underlined.

The urgent consumption goods are first subjected to monitoring. The monitoring will be held for a month, but its results will be submitted to the President quarterly.
