Measures on prevention of the bird flu are taken in Azerbaijan. The terms at the veterinary check points on the border with Dagestan are toughened to prevent import of poultry to the country.
The work is carried out in connection with outbreak of the bird flu in the Novorosibirsk province and Altay territory, Russia, Gadim Maharramov, the representative of the Agriculture Ministry, told Trend.
According to Maharramov, all objects work in intensive regime at the instruction of Ismat Abbasov, the Agriculture Minister.
The Azerbaijani government also banned the import of poultry from the Eastern countries, particularly, China, Japan, Pakistan.
