The Azerbaijani Transport Ministry has liquidated 2300 facilities as a result of definite measures taken in this direction, the Road and Transport Services Department of the Ministry told Trend. They were mainly the trade facilities, the public catering places, service places, and some dwelling houses. The Department has revealed 6700 illegal facilities along the road thus far.
"The key objective of the Ministry is to ensure the security of highway roads, as well as their coincidence to standards. So, the facilities constructed along the automobile roads are liquidated,” the Department said.
The work is implemented in accordance with the decree issued by the Cabinet of Ministers, which does not allow the construction in 30m-stripe along the motor highway. It comprises 12.5m for internal roads.
