The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is interested in privatization of the Azerbaijan’s state banks, Trend reports. The Capitalbank displays for today the biggest desire to involve EBRD as the shareholder, the head of the EBRD Baku office Reymond Convey told journalists today during his talk with them. He does not rule out the attractiveness for EBRD to be involved in the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA), however the bank shows little interest in it.
EBRD never considered itself the strategic partner in the IBA privatization, on the contrary, he aimed to become the financial partner for involvement of the strategic investors.
