In early 2006 the Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD) plans to start establishment of the necessary infrastructure within the North-South transport corridor project, ASRD told Trend. The Department is currently holding negiotiations with the Azerbaijani government on reception of necessary fund to implement the project.
Azerbaijan will construct 8.4km railway in regard to opening the corridor. Ina ccordance with the preliminary estimation, it will cost around 60bn manats.
ASRD noted that they received appropriate plot for construction. Construction of new customs and check points are also necessary.
