Scheduled monitoring on defining bird flue state in Azerbaijan finished

The scheduled 8-th monitoring on defining the state of affairs with bird flu in Azerbaijan has been completed. Analyses are curerently being conducted at the State Veterinary Service under the Agricultural Ministry of Azerbaijan based on the samples collected, the State Veterinary Service told Trend.

В"However, by the preliminary data, no signs of the disease have been found, the State Veterinary Service said.

The monitoring has been carried out on the Masalli, Agdjabedi, Devechi, Baku and the Apsheron peninsular areas. The works have been executed by the special commission comprising the specilaists of the Veterinary Service, the Health Ministry, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Hunters Society of Azerbaijan.

All countrys border-veterinary points passed since August 2005 on the intensive control regime at the countrys frontiers, particularly, in the Nakhchevan Autonomous Republic. Hunting for wild birds and recently sale of live birds in the markets has been banned. Selling of chicken doners is alo banned.
