The KFW tuberculosis program manager, Theodore Dickman arrives to Baku on April 1 in order to study the implementation of the tuberculosis struggle program, financed by the KFW, the KFW Baku office head, Natik Abdullayev told Trend. The Healthcare ministry is now preparing the joint project of the reference-lab building in order to track down the infection, he said.
It will supposedly be located at the premises of the Institute of Lung Diseases. The bank will conduct the expertise and announce the tender after the ministry will issue permission for the construction.
KFW has allocated a 3 million EURO credit for the program implementation. These finances are also designed for purchase of medicines within the frames of the World Health Organization` s program DOTS. 4 devices were purchased to support the diagnostics centers and all the tuberculosis centers will be equipped with new microscopes.
