In January April 2006 a total of 54,148 cargo customs declarations have been registered by the Azerbaijani customs bodies (with supplementary list of 72,118). 11,394 of them (with supplementary list of 12,890) made on base of export and 42,754 (with supplementary list of 59,228) on base of import.
According the State Customs Committee, as compared to 2005, the number of declarations has increased by 6.68% or 3,392 declarations. At the same time, the growth of the export was 18.33% and import 3.96%.
In January April 2006, 6745,500 tones of the cargo were transported, which is 24.25% more than 2005. 3103,400 tones of cargo was exported and 3642.1 imported. 2559,900 tones were transported through sea transport, 349.4 through rail, and 156.9 through automobile.
2030,100 tones of cargo were transported through Azerbaijan. The cargo transported from Switzerland (620,600 tones), Italy (448,900 t.) Georgia (371,100 t.), Cyprus (103,100. t.), Tadjikistan (78,700 t.), Russia (75,600 t.), Iran (64,500 t.), Turkey (58,100. t.) and Turkmenistan (56,000 t.).
