12th international exhibition Interfood Azerbaijan 2006 opened today, May 24, in Sports and Concert Complex named after H.Aliyev in Baku. Trend reports Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov, vice-president of Trade and Industrial Chamber Mehman Ahmedov, president of Investments and Export Support Fund Emil Majidov, CEO of Azersun Holding Rahmi Yashar, director of Д°teca Caspian Farid Mamedov, etc. participating at the openig ceremony.
Speaking at the opening, Abbasov stated the importance of such exhibitions and expansion of cooperation among the countries, as well as creation of new relations among businessmen and so.
20 Azeri companies, including 12 manufacturers, are participating in the exhibition. Nearly 40 out of 61 companies from 13 countries represented at the exhibition are manufacturers as well. The exhibit area rose by 30% over year.
The main sections of the exhibition are: food products, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, frozen products and semi-prepared foods, agricultural equipment, vehicles and spares, restaurant and bar equipment, fodder and additives, plant protection means, tobacco and tobacco products, food additives, refrigerating and trade equipment, packaging and various agricultural technologies. Apart from all these, wine-making equipment is introduced at this exhibition the first time.
The exhibition is officially supported by Agriculture Ministry, Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Industrial Chamber and so on. General sponsor of the exhibition is Azersun holding.
