State Concern AZAL examines the possibility of purchasing six French aircrafts for internal flights, governmental officials told Trend. These will be small aircrafts with capacity of 0-50 passengers. This issue is being examined at the moment.
Alongside, governmental officials said, Azerbaijan yet did not officially cancel the purchase of Ukrainian aircrafts. However, until the accident is investigated, AZAL suspended purchasing and operating Ukrainian РђN-140-100.
The fallen aircraft РђN-140-100 was purchased under the contract signed between AZAL: and Kharkov State Aviation Enterprise on July 8, 2004. The contract also anticipates training personnel and maintenance of aircrafts. The contract price amounts $36.4mln ($9.1mln per aircraft).
