According to the National Bank of Azerbaijan strategy, the credit register at NBA will be handed over to commercial banks, Trend reports quoting Rufat Aslanli, CEO, NBA. В"Our strategy is to create institutions and as soon as market is ready to accept them we will hand credit bureau over to banks as it was with processing center В"Milli KardВ", said Aslanli.
However, National Bank is not going to leave credit register as it is today. Its strategy includes a number of important tools for the register coverage increase.
Today only banks are taking part in the register, but upon mail banks creation they will join it as well.
В"Anyway, we are going to maintain he register until the market gets ready to accept itВ", said NBA official.
Aslanli also said today all the banks are members of credit bureau and provide it with information. Many banks procedures set forth that one shall get an extract from credit register prior to obtaining the credit.
NBA official suggests the register information grows alongside the rapid development of banks credit portfolios. Addresses to credit bureau rose in two or three times lately.
There is a private credit bureau in Georgia, but it possesses less than 5 percent of information. Such organizations are not demanded in the market which calls for some steps to activate it, says Aslanli.
