As of July 1, 2006 total amount of Azerbaijans foreign debt was $1.806bn, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Finance. Total fraction of such debt in GDP forecast-2006 is 11.5%, $215 per capita.
According to signed credit agreements, foreign loans against governmental security amounted $3.534bn as of July 1.
During the first half year the countrys foreign debt rose by $176mln due to use of credits under steam and gas unit construction project implementation in Sumgayit, poverty reduction and so on.
During the reported period, payments on obtained credits amounted $33.5mln for reimbursement of basic debt and interests on credits. ]
