(Autoinsidernews) -Despite soaring gasoline prices and slumping sales of large SUVs, demand for Audis new large Q7 crossover has been stronger than expected. The Q7 went on sale in mid-June. Through July, Audi has sold 1,900 Q7s but it has orders for 9,900, reports Trend.
The Q7 is twelve inches longer than it Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg platform-mates, Audi produced an SUV that features a more carlike ride and is a bit closer to our own DNA.
By far, the Q7 has been the highest pre-sold car that we have ever had, said Filip Brabec, product planning manager.
Demand in Europe has been just as brisk. Audi has already increased production once and is considering bumping production again to keep up with demand.
