Spy Shots: 2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R

(autoinsidernews) - While testing at Germany's NГјrburgring, this near-production spec model of Nissan's 2008 Skyline GT-R was caught by spy photographers. Wearing some minimal disguise front and back, Nissan's top-of-the-line coupe appears to quite true to the GT-R Proto concept that debuted at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show.

Details on the powerplant of the Skyline GT-R are sketchy at best, but rumors say the car is likely to feature a twin-turbo V6 in the 3.5- to 3.8-liter range. The powerplant will likely put out somewhere around 450 horsepower and 370 lb.-ft. of torque, and will be mated to a version of Nissan's electronic ATTESA ET-S torque-sensing all-wheel drive, reports Trend.

The 2008 Skyline GT-R is scheduled to have its production premiere at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, and arrive in Japanese showrooms soon after. Those of us in the States will have to wait until early 2008.
