Top ranking officials of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Juan Miranda, Director General of ADB`s Central and Western Asia Department (MQAD), Matthew Westfall, Director of MQAD`s Social Sector Department , and Chin Chun Phong, Deputy Head lawyer are expected to visit Baku on November 2-3. The main aim of the forthcoming visit is to discuss bilateral strategic opportunities and directions of future cooperation with the Azerbaijani Government, Trend reports referring to a message spread by ADB`s Baku Office.
During the visit, the representatives of ADB are expected to meet with the President, Prime-Minister, the corresponding Ministers and leading donors of the Country.
Azerbaijan has become a member of ADB since 1999. ADB has granted $104 mln. aimed at the implementation of five projects in the country to December, 2005. Moreover, the total volume of ADB's technical assistance to Azerbaijan has made up $16.35 mln.
