The International Investment Court in Washington registered the claim of Barmek Holding against the Azerbaijan's Economic Development Ministry in relation with the reimbursement of the investments in amount of $291 mln allocated to the Baku Electric Network. The Azerbaijani Government has been asked many times by a court rule to reimburse. However, all these efforts became unsuccessful and the Azerbaijani Government intends to be protected till the end, the Azerbaijani Deputy Economic Development Minister Mikail Jabbarov said, Trend reports.
The Deputy Minister considers that all damages inflicted by Barmek to the state will be defined.
We are going to generalize all unpaid finances for the electric power delivered to Barmek, and we intend to achieve the reimbursement of all finances by the company, Jabbarov said.
The international evaluators involved by the Azerbaijan Economic Development Ministry also confirm the list of the missing assets in the electric networks and their costs.
According to the Deputy Minister, the volume of the missing assets will be finally defined after completing the takeover process, and the government intends to achieve their reimbursement. According to the takeover agreement, payments will be required for the missing assets.
We do not want to break the agreement. If the company accepts our proposals for the reimbursement of the damages, then it will happen without court process, otherwise the question will be resolved in the court, Jabbarov underlined.
