Semipalatinsk automobile plant of Kazakhstan intends to launch the production of Daewoo and PAZ buses. The completed product will be exported to Azerbaijan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine, Trend reports citing Kazinform.
In December 2006 Semipalatinsk will set up the assembly of equipment. The setting up of technological lines is scheduled for the second quarter of 2007.
In November 2006 Kazakh investors namely Vitaj and Almaty Company Commercial Transport, signed an agreement with the South Korean company, Daewoo Bus Global Corporation, on joint activities on the establishment of an enterprise and the purchase of a license and the technology to assemble Daewoo cars.
A total of $8.8 mln has been invested in the enterprise. The annual output will total 2,000 buses.
