(autoinsidernews) - TH!NK, the electric city car project bought by Ford then victim of the automaker's cost-cutting, will return with a new design and improved usability. The Norwegian city car was the electric answer to the smart fortwo, reports Trend.

Despite being dumped by Ford in a cost-cutting move, TH!NK is preparing for a future. The original team has gone back to the drawing board, boosting range to 80 miles on a charge (up from 50 miles) and redesigning the rust and dent proof thermoplastic exterior. The new TH!NK will sport standard anti-lock brakes, power steering, electric windows, and central locking.

We are building an organization to meet the exciting challenges ahead, said a spokesman.

The team hopes to get the new model on the road next year. There's no word on pricing and distribution.
