Chicago Auto Show: Scion unveils updated 2008 tC

(www.autoinsidernews.com) вЂ" Scion announced its refreshed 2008 tC coupe at the Chicago Auto Show. The tC was the only car in Scion's line up for the 2007 model year вЂ" even though 2006 xA and xB models were available вЂ" and the tC will get a few tweak to go with the all-new 2008 xD and redesigned 2008 xB.

The 2008 tC features a new front fascia with a new upper mesh grille, lattice lower grille and projector-type low beam headlights with black trim. Out back, the tC receives new rear tail lights featuring round combination lamps. Inside, the tC receives several minor updates, including silver-colored accents on the doors and center cluster, updated seat fabric and Pioneer subwoofer, reports Trend.

All Scions for 2008 will feature iPod integration, with the standard Pioneer audio system features a head unit integrating track, artist and album information from the iPod into a one-line display on the head unit's screen. Music is controlled through the head unit and steering wheel audio controls. A standard mini-jack port also allows users to listen to other MP3 players the tC's Pioneer speakers.

The tC is powered by a 2.4L four cylinder producing 161-hp and 162 lb-ft. of torque. The tC is available with either five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.

All Scion models come in a mono spec trim, with transmission and color as the only choices вЂ" outside of the collection of dealer and aftermarket accessories. Standard features include a panorama moonroof, air conditioning, cruise control, power door locks, window and mirrors, auto-off headlamps, as well as many other standard features.
