The State Statistics Committee has established a fact of acceleration of the privatization process of Azerbaijan's state property in 2006. As Trend has been told in the State Committee, 1677 small entities and facilities were privatized in 2003, 1954 ones вЂ" in 2004, 2463 вЂ" in 2005, and 3063 ones вЂ" in 2006 at a total cost of AZN14,9 mln..
Starting from the time when the privatization was launched, 46181 small entities and facilities have been privatized in the country to the total sum of AZN155,9 mln. These are 890 industrial facilities, 123 agricultural ones, 505 construction facilities, 3701 trade and sale entities, 1053 fast food and public catering ones, 10034 homes service ones, 648 petrol stations, 19584 transport facilities and means, 180 public economy facilities, and 9308 other facilities and equipment.
The small privatization is most actively in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Baku, Ganja, Aghdash, Asbheron, Zagatala, Khachmaz, Guba, and Shamkir.
In addition, in 2006, 22 state-controlled enterprises with the authorized capital of AZN 8,8 mln. turned to be joint-stock ventures. The process encompassed Nakhchivan, Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Ali-Bayramli, Khachmaz, Barda, and Imishli. To the beginning of 2007, 1596 state-run enterprises with the capital of AZN 1094 mln., including 371 large-scale and medium-sized enterprise were turned out to joint-stock ones.
In 2006, 200 joint-stock ventures with the total cost of the stocks at AZN 50,7 mln. were put into auction, and the total cost of the shares sold out reached AZN8,788 mln. At the same time, by means of close signing, shares to the sum of AZN 2,154 mln were sold to the labour force, those ones to the sum of AZN 6,635 mln. вЂ" via money auctions, and the other ones вЂ" to the sum of AZN 29,7 thousand вЂ" remained in the state property.
The lands of 397 state-controlled enterprises were privatized last year. Some AZN 5,4 mln. were gained from their privatization. The population has privatized 11,4 thousand flats of the total square of 728,2 square meters since the time when the privatization was launched. 389,5 thousand of flats were privatized. This figure is just 64,1% out of the total number of accommodations to be privatized.
