Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. I. Khalilova/ Rufat Mammadov, the Executive Director of the Bureau for EU Technical Assistance Programmes (TACIS), said that a Financial Memorandum on the TACIS National Action Plan for Azerbaijan for the financial year 2006 is expected to be signed in Baku in the first part of May.
The delays in signing the mentioned memorandum have not reflected in the implementation of projects included in it, since the Coordination Bureau for EU Technical Assistance Programmes (TACIS) for Azerbaijan is presently elaborating technical tasks for these projects.
Action Plan 2006 has included projects on the improvement of the investment climate in the country (worth €3 mln.), institutional development of the Azerbaijani Economic Development (worth €3 mln.), development of a system of professional technical education in the country (worth €3 mln.), creation of a twinning-programme for the country (worth €6.5 mln.) and support in the implementation of the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan (PCA) with a budget of €3.5 mln.
