Latvia Wishes to Open Golf Club in   Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend U.Ismaylova / The Director-General of the Trade Chamber of Latvia, Janis Lej, said in Baku on 17 April that one of the big sport companies of Latvia will open a golf club in Baku, which will cost €35 mln.

According to him, such a golf club already exists in Riga and another is planned to be opened in Baku. "Golf is a corporative game which will assist in developing bilateral relations in an unofficial way," he said.

According to the Director-General, the venue and time span of the project has not been confirmed as yet. On 17 April an Azerbaijani-Latvian business forum is taking place in Baku, with the participation of companies which specialize in areas of service, trade, food industry, beer production, banking sector and transport.

In addition, Lej said that the Latvia had invited the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Heydar Babayev, to make business visit to Riga.
