Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. I. Khalilova/ Arif Valiyev, the Chairman of the State Statistics Commitee, has said that Azerbaijan is expected to join the Data Distribution Special Standards of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the midst of 2008.

These terms have been established after an expert examination was conducted. Notably, due to this fact, an IMF technical mission headed by Zdravka Balieza visited the country since April 18 till April 25, 2007.

To join the mentioned standards, Azerbaijan will have to take some measures. Being the major coordinating body in the country, the State Statistics Committee is to collect necessary data from the Azerbaijan Finance Ministry and National Bank of the Country, as well as place all these on the web-site. IMF will conduct a monitoring on the basis of all that. According to Mr. Valiyev, the periodicity of placement of statistical data is different - monthly, quarterly, and annually. There is an only issue that left is distributing data on the external (foreign) debt of the country. "The Milli Majlis ( Azerbaijan's Parliament) is still viewing the draft - "On State Debt". As soon as it is passed by the Parliament, each body will be commissioned to keep books of the external non-state debt," said Mr. Valiyev.

According to him, the forthcoming site is considered for placing data approximately on 30 diferent indicators.
