Ministry of Economic Development Study Appraisal Report Poyri on Construction of Garbage Reproducing Plant in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / The Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, a South Caucasus country, plans to conclude study of report on evaluation of bids submitted by three companies, which refused to participate in the project on construction of a garbage reproducing plant in the country by the end of May.

The project was developed by the Finnish company Poyri on the basis of proposals made by the Japanese company EBARA, the Australian company EVN and the French company CNIM.

The report includes the advantages and shortages of these proposals.

Some companies propose to burn garbage, while others to construct the garbage reproducing plant further to obtain the paper from returns in future. The budget of the project will depend on the proposals and technology to be involved in the construction.

In the initial stage it is planned to construct one garbage reproducing plant in Baku. The construction work will begin at the end of 2007.

As of official statistics, around 775,000 tons of garbage is collected in Baku and outskirts a year.
