Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) has officially applied to the Government for additional financing of Azerbaijani Mortgage Fund (AMF) from public budget, deputy president of the NBA, Rufat Aslanly, reported on 6 June.
The banks have allotted some AZN 54mln, while the public budget was to allocate AZN 46mln for this purpose within last 3 years.
"We hope to hear a positive reply from the Government in order to be able to continue further financing of mortgage crediting. Calculations revealed that the same amount of funds that has been used from the beginning of the year is required for the rest half of the year. Allocation of mortgage credits can be intensified by the recent presidential decree on extension of the list of receivers of social mortgage including militaries of Border Service, National Security Ministry, and Internal Troops," Aslanly said.
Azerbaijani Deputy Finance Minister, Azar Bayramov, reported on 6 June that the additional financing was under consideration. "We have a schedule to be followed. In June, allocations will not exceed AZN 3-5mln," he said.
