Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The spring sow in Azerbaijan was extended on 402,001 areas, which is thirteen hectares more in comparison to 2006.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture reported on the 11th of June that the sown area of cereals (excluding corn) made up 20,030 hectare (3,004 hectare more than in January -May 2006), corn 33,000 hectare, potatoes 67,000 hectare, vegetables 83,000 ton, melons and gourds 32,000 hectare, clover 75,003 ton.
In 2006 the volume of crop production in the country made up 2,700 ton, potatoes 999,000 ton, vegetables 1,100 ton and cotton 130,000 ton.
