Heritage Fund Announces Level of Economic Freedom of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend U.Ismaylova / According to the assessment of the Heritage Fund in 2007, Azerbaijan takes 55.4 place amongst 157 countries for the index of economic freedom.

In 2006 Azerbaijan took 54th place amongst 157 countries and in 2005 - 52.5 amongst 155 countries. The Fund holds the assessment in accordance with ten factors (regulation, trade policy, fiscal barriers, interference of the Government, monetary policy, salaries and prices, foreign investments, bank and finances, citizenship rights, shadow economy), as well as ten freedoms (freedom of business, freedom of trade, fiscal freedom, freedom from Government, monetary freedom, freedom of investments, financial freedom, citizenship freedom, freedom from corruption, labor freedom).
