From January to May 2007, Azerbaijan implemented construction work to the total sum of AZN 865.5mln, 50.1% more than last year, the State Statistics Committee reports.
According to the committee, state enterprises engaged in the construction sector amounted to AZN 246.5mln and private enterprises AZN 619mln.
Some 81.1% of the total volume of construction work, or AZN 702mln, fell to new constructions, refurbishment and extensions: 11.1%, or AZN 95.6mln on overhaul, 3.5% or AZN 30.4mln on current repair work and 4.3%, or AZN 37.5mln on other construction activities.
From January to April 2007, the average salary of employees engaged in the construction industry reached AZN 371.1 which is up 17.4% from the corresponding period of last year.
