Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / Eyyub Huseynov, the chairman of the Azerbaijani Union of Independent Consumers, stated on 5 July that the Union held monitoring into consumers market at boundary regions of the country.
According to Huseynov, the monitoring was held into 27 types of foodstuff, which are mainly imported from Turkey and Iran (mayonnaise, dried milk, sausages and flours) in Gazakh, Agstafa and in 'Red bridge'(Azerbaijani-Georgian border) regions.
Monitoring revealed that these goods fell short of necessary quality standards and were dangerous for human health. The Union holds anti-advertising measures among population.
Huseynov noted that the Union submitted the results of monitoring to state bodies. The monitoring is held through the assistance of the Eurasian Fund.
