Azerbaijani Labour Minister: Payment of Targeted Social Assistance Has Disadvantages

Azerbaijan, Sheki / Тrend corr E. Guliyev / A meeting dedicated to the results of the first half of 2007 was held in Sheki on 13 July. It was attended by the heads of labour and social economy centres of seventy-eight Azerbaijani regions, including Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Azerbaijani Labour and Social Security Minister, Fizuli Alakbarov noted that most disadvantages were connected with payment of targeted social assistance. According to the Minister, eight people were removed from office and over fifty punished due to incompetence in payment of targeted social assistance.

Alakbarov noted that serious disadvantages were in payment of monthly pecuniary aid (AZN 100) to the families which lost members in war.

Sheki is 320km from Baku.
