Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Baku International Sea Trade Port (BISTP) dealt with 2.52mln t of freight in the first half of 2007, which is 35.4% less than in the same period of 2006.
During the first half of the year, Dubendi oil terminal trans-shipped 1.35mln t of oil and oil products, according to BISTP, the overseer of the terminal.
Some 1.15mln t of freight was trans-shipped via ferry terminal of the port and 17,000t of freight via dry freight terminal.
According to the representatives of the port, a decrease in the amount of trans-shipment is explained by the development of Russian ports in the Caspian Sea, which attract freight flow mainly regarding dry freights.
