Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM:AAZ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Khosrow Zamani as Non-Executive Chairman with immediate effect. Mr Zamani recently joined the board as non-executive Director. Mr Graham Mascall is leaving the board to concentrate on his other business commitments.
Mr. Zamani was previously director of the Southern Europe and Central Asia Department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector lending arm of the World Bank, the Company reports. Whilst a director at IFC, Mr. Zamani was instrumental in building the IFC investment program in the region with several new initiatives, particularly in Central Asia and the Caucuses.
Currently the Board of Directors of the Company includes President Reza Vaziri, General Manager Gordon Lewis, Finance Director Richard Round, Non-Executive Directors Ross Bhappu, Tim Eggar and John H. Sununu.
Anglo Asian Mining PLC has the right to develop six properties in south-west of Azerbaijan on the base of the agreement signed with the Government of Azerbaijan.
