SOCAR’s Fleet Increases Cargo Transportation

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / In the first half of the year, the Caspian Oil Fleet (COF) of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) transported 290,319 tons of various cargos, an increase of 15,427 tons from the same period of last year, a source stated in SOCAR.

Over the reported period, COF transported diesel fuel, drinkable water, hardware, cement, chemical reagents, pipes. In 2006 CFOF shipped 565,400 tons of cargo, against 460,000 in 2005. Revenue of AZN 33.4 mln has been achieved within the contracts signed with foreign companies, which makes up 50% of the gross revenue of COF. The figure in 2006 totaled AZN 36 mln.

COF owns 256 vessels.
