Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / The lawyers of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promoting Fund (AZPROMO) and the German Technical Assistance Society (GTZ) has began preparations for the juridical registration of the fruit juice exporters alliance formed in July 2007, AZPROMO's Marketing Manager, Teymur Taghiyev, reported on 3 September. The decision to register an NGO in the Justice Ministry was made by the members of the alliance during its second meeting.
According to Taghiyev, juridical registration will become the nominal tool of impact upon the members. The representatives of AZPROMO and GTZ will publicize their future plans on 7 September.
The main purpose for the merging of juice-makers is to resolve the problems which have existed in the juice industry for a long time, technology standards being one of them. Juice manufacturing in Azerbaijan is carried out without the use of modern technology and does not correspond to current standards. A unified Azerbaijani brand will be established so that no particular brand of juice will be advertised and the brand will carry its quality mark. Any products depicting this mark authenticate that the juice meets European quality standards. The alliance will also deal with the marketing of Azerbaijani juices in foreign markets.
The alliance was originally formed by six leading companies (Milk-PRO, Gilan, SAF etc.), but now there are 7 members on the list.
