Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The second meeting of the Azerbaijani-Polish intergovernmental commission on co-operation will be held in Baku on 7-9 November as part of the official visit of Piotr Wozniak, the Polish Economy Minister to Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development said on 5 September, Heydar Babayev, the Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development, is the commission's Co-chair.
The meeting will discuss the work completed as a result of the first meeting of the commission held in Warsaw on 11-12 September 2006. "As the dynamic of economic relations between the countries is not so high, we will consider the work done and to be done to date. Though trade is on a good level, it is still needs to be expanded," Krzysztof Krajewski, the Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, said.
In 2006 the goods turnover between Azerbaijan and Poland made up $70mln compared to $50mln in 2005.
The intergovernmental commission is likely to discuss co-operation in the energy sector. " Poland is interested in oil deliveries from Azerbaijan via the Odessa-Brody pipeline. Export of Azerbaijani oil is not on agenda as yet," Krajewski said.
The second national exhibition of Poland will be held during the visit of the Polish delegation to Azerbaijan. The first exhibition was held in November 2006.
