Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / ВР Azerbaijan restored export of Azerbaijani light crude oil via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline last weekend, ВР Azerbaijan said on 1 October.
Production from the Azeri and Chirag fields increased and is now 248,400 barrels a day compared to 160,000 barrels a day after the cessation of the BTC on 28 September.
At present production from the Central Azeri is 46,900 barrels of oil a day, East Azeri 40,300 barrels, West Azeri 65,900 barrels and Chirag 1, 98,300 barrels a day. The maximum volume of production after the cessation of the BTC was 700,000-730,000 barrels a day.
BP said that operation of the pipeline was suspended due to problems with subsidiary equipment of the first pump station of the BTC pipeline in Kars, Turkey.
ВР Azerbaijan is an operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli full field development project and the BTC pipeline. BTC transports oil produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields. The discharge capacity of the pipeline is 50mln tons a year.
