ВР Azerbaijan Passes Section Difficult for Drilling in Oil Field

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend A.Aliyev / The repeated drilling of the second exploration well in the Inam field in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian sea, is underway. "The well has been already drilled till 1,000 meters, but at the depth of 500 meters the casing pipe got stuck," BP Azerbaijan, the operator of the project, said.

Earlier, BP ceased the drilling of the second well because of the technical reasons and set up the drilling of a new well in 50 meters. During the drilling of the well, which was started in mid November, the drilling contractor faced a difficulty at the depth of 500 meters, while hauling down a casing pipe. The drilling will take over 200 days in accordance with schedule.

The partners to the Inam project are the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (50%), BP (25%, operator), the Korean National Oil Corporation (20%) and Shell (5%).
