Azerbaijan and Georgia to Continue Talks on Gas in March: SOCAR President
Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 February / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Discussions on gas deliveries by the State oil company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) to Georgia will continue in Baku in March, Rovnag Abdullayev, the SOCAR President said.
At present a new agreement on gas deliveries to Georgia is under discussion. The contract will be concluded with SOCAR, who are the gas producers (produced at their own fields).
Earlier an Azerbaijani official stated that the country could deliver to Georgia 500mln cu m of gas a year, despite its demand in the volume of 1-1.5bln cu m of gas a year. Georgia is prepared to purchase Azerbaijan's own gas at $180-$190 per 1,000 cu m.
