Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 March / Trend corr S. Aliyev/ Azerbaijan commenced electric power supply to Georgia, the Vice-President of Azerenerji JSC Marlen Askarov said on 12 March.
Earlier, Russia temporary suspended power supply to Georgia through the high-voltage power main Kavkasioni due to repair work being carried out in the largest hydroelectric power station in Georgia - Inguri.
According to Askarov, on 11 March, Georgia sent a letter to Azerbaijan requesting restoration of power supply and in the evening of the same day Azerbaijan commenced power supply to the country.
In winter Russia used to export to Georgia up to 4.3mln KW/hour of electric power per 24 hours so that in summer Georgia supplied the same volume of energy back to Russia.
