Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 March / Trend corr S. Aliyev/ This year, the State Oil Comany of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will drill a new exploration well in the southern part of West Absheron field, SOCAR reported on 12 March. The depth of the well will comprise some 800m. At present, other well is being frilled in the field from the Absheron rig.
SOCAR intends to implement the program on development of this part of the field. The first platform will be set up for linkage with the three drilled gas wells. They were drilled and preserved. Their debit will make up 250,000 cu m of gas per 24 hours. That will enable switching to a new development method - gas lift.
The reserves in the field exceed 10mln tons of gas.
