Oil Products Sale in Domestic Market Increases in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 March / Trend / The State Statistics Committee officials reported that from Jan to Feb 2008 approximately 937,600 tons of oil products were sold in the internal market of Azerbaijan. This is a decrease of 3% compared to the same period of 2006.

Nearly 112,900 tons of the total volume of oil products was petrol, which shows a rise of 9% from the previous year. The wholesale price of one ton of А-92 gasoline in the internal market (including delivery and VAT) is AZN 670 and А-95 is AZN 736.

According to the State Statistics Committee, from Jan to Feb, the Azerbaijani company Azpetrol obtained 60,300 tons of petrol and LUKoil 18,600 tons.

From Jan to Feb 2008, a total of 125,900 tons of diesel fuel was sold in the domestic market, 26.4% more than in 2007. The wholesale price of one ton of diesel fuel is 485 AZN (VAT inclusive).

Azpetrol received 45,300 tons of the diesel fuel for aforementioned amount (LUKoil - 16,100 tons). The Azerbaijani State Caspian Sea Shipping Company purchased 3,000 tons of the diesel fuel, as well as almost the whole amount of motor fuel.

Most of all of the mazut oil was sold in the internal market. In January, 453,700 tons of the fuel oil was sold, which is 11.8% less than in the same period of 2007. The wholesale price of 1 ton of М-40 fuel oil in Azerbaijan is AZN 100 (including delivery and VAT). Azerenerji JSC received 301,200 tons of the fuel oil and the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery Plant - 142,500 tons, for further processing.

A total of 76,100 tons of aviation kerosene was sold, 21.8% less than in 2007. The price of aviation kerosene was AZN 307 per ton (including delivery and VAT).

The sale of petroleum bitumen totaled 10,800 tons, a decrease of 3% from 2007. The wholesale price of 1 ton of bitumen BN 60/90 (including delivery and VAT) was AZN 160.

From Jan to Feb12,300 tons of LP was sold in the domestic market, which by 33.3% less than in the same period of 2007.

The rest types of oil products sold at the domestic market amounted to 146,100 tons or 42.1% more than January to February 2007.
