Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 June / Trend / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has approved the program of the social and economic development of oil and gas producing 28 May department for 2008 to 2010, SOCAR said.
The 28 May oil and gas producing department, which develops shallow part of Guneshli field, accounts for 60% of all the SOCAR oil production and 70% of the SOCAR gas production.
The oil production is expected to be stabilized and natural gas production is expected to be increased within the program.
The program envisages construction of new facilities, rise in the volume of drilling work, updating oil field equipment and transport and pipeline system, and capital repairs of the platforms.
SOCAR is to carry out repairs in four platforms # 2, 4, 5 and 10 in line with the project of Onshore Oil and Gas Project Institute by the end of 2008. The bottom of these large constructions is checked, they are tested for durability and they are repaired with the help of divers. In the upper part of the platform, the constructors update obsolete constructions and cover of the deck, paint the equipment, repair bridges, helicopter and landing grounds. Last year, platforms # 6, 3 and 9 was brought into conformance with the international standards. The platform #4 is being repaired at present.
Apart from the dwelling blocs, second blocs are expected to be built in these platforms. The desalting equipment of the Spanish production with 8 cu m of capacity is expected to be purchased for each platform. The equipment of such type of the Turkish production was earlier installed in #11 platforms; there is no pressing water problem here.
The oil and gas producing department produces oil and gas in 13 deep water stationary sea platforms. Their exploitation term is 50 years. The platforms need repairing, reconstruction and durability test due to the aggressive sea conditions and strong currents.
