Sale of Diesel Fuel Increase at Domestic Market in Jan-Jun

Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 July / Trend / The State Statistics Committee officials reported that in January to June 2008 approximately 2.5mln tons of oil products were sold to the domestic market of Azerbaijan. This is an increase of 1.7% as compared to the same period of 2007.

Some 403,900 tons of the total volume of oil products was petrol, which is an increase of 15.3% from the previous year. The wholesale price of one ton of A-92 gasoline in the internal market (VAT and transportation costs inclusive) is AZN 670 and A-95 is AZN 736. According to the State Statistics Committee, in January to June the Azerbaijani company Azpetrol obtained 207,600 tons of petrol and LUKoil 63,400 tons.

In January to June 2008 a total of 483,800 tons of diesel fuel was sold to the domestic market, 49.6% less than in 2007. The wholesale price of one ton of diesel fuel is 485 AZN (VAT inclusive). Azpetrol received 157,200 tons of diesel fuel of the aforementioned amount (LUKoil - 52,700 tons). The Azerbaijani State Caspian Sea Shipping Company purchased 8,200 tons of diesel fuel.

Most of the mazut oil was sold in the internal market. From January to July, 726,600 tons of fuel oil was sold, which is 34.9% less than in the same period of 2007. The wholesale price of 1 ton of M-40 fuel oil in Azerbaijan is AZN 100 (including delivery and VAT). Azerenerji JSC received 431,200 tons of fuel oil and the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery Plant 257,000 tons for further refinery.

A total of 260,000 tons of aviation kerosene was sold, 28.5% less than in 2007. The price of aviation kerosene was AZN 307 per ton (including delivery and VAT).

The sale of petroleum bitumen totaled 67,900 tons, an increase of 16.4%% from 2007. The wholesale price of 1 ton of bitumen BN 60/90 (VAT and transportation costs inclusive) was AZN 160.

From January to June 44,300 tons of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) was sold, 26.8% less than the same period in 2007.

Other types of oil products were sold in the internal market 486,500 tons, 32% more than from January to June 2007.
