BP Plans to Produce 307.6mln Barrels of Oil in 2008

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 August / corr Trend A.Badalova / In 2008 BP Azerbaijan plans to produce an average of 840,000 barrels p/d for the full year from the four existing platforms and the newly-installed Deepwater Gunashli  (DWG) under the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, according to the company's  report placed in its website.

Of this, 134,000 barrels p/d is expected from Chirag, 243,500 barrels p/d from Central Azeri, 235,300 barrels p/d from West Azeri, 144,400 barrels p/d from East Azeri and 82,800 barrels p/d from DWG.

According to the expectations of BP, the volume of production from Chirag field in 2008 will be 49.16mln barrels, Central Azeri - 89.13mln barrels, Western Azeri - 86.12mln barrels, Eastern Azeri - 52.86mln barrels and Deepwater Guneshli - 30.31mln barrels.

Over the course of the year we plan to spend more than $600 million in operating expenditure and around $2bln in capital expenditure.

BP anticipates that plateau production from Stage 1 of SD will be 8.6 billion cubic metres of gas per year and approximately 45,000 barrels of condensate p/d.

BP predicts to obtain 7.68bln cubic meters of gas per year from the field in 2008 and 16.3mln barrels of the condensate.

In 2008, BP plans to continue appraisal activities at Shah Deniz by drilling a further appraisal well. Operating expenditure will be around $120 million and capital expenditure around $500 million.
